Vinyl Graphics — Printed, Laminated and Installed In-House
Vinyl graphics is the underlying craft behind everything we make. This page explains the materials, the laminates and where each type belongs, so you can specify a job properly.
Material types
Monomeric vinyl is the economy option for short-term flat work. Polymeric is the standard for exterior signage and shutters, holding shape and colour for years. Cast vinyl is the most conformable and is what goes onto vehicle curves and rivets.
Cut vinyl — no print, just coloured film cut to shape — is still the cleanest option for lettering, logos and window details.

Laminates and finishes
The laminate does most of the protecting: UV filtering to slow fade, abrasion resistance on high-traffic surfaces, anti-graffiti on anything at street level, and matt or gloss to suit the setting.
Interior wall graphics often use a textured or wipe-clean laminate instead, depending on the surface being covered.
Where vinyl graphics get used
Across our own work that means roller shutters, shopfront glass, interior walls, stadium concourses, hoardings, vans and fleet livery, exhibition panels and public realm items.
Everything is printed in our own unit and fitted by our own installers, so the same person who proofed the artwork is accountable for how it looks on the wall.

- What are vinyl graphics?
- Vinyl graphics are designs printed onto or cut from self-adhesive vinyl film and applied to a surface — shutters, glass, walls, floors, vehicles or signage panels.
- How long do exterior vinyl graphics last?
- A laminated polymeric print used outdoors in the UK typically lasts five to seven years. Cast vinyl on vehicles is similar; unlaminated short-term material is a season or two.
- Can Shutter Media install graphics nationwide?
- Yes. We are based on Teesside and install across the UK and Ireland, including multi-site roll-outs scheduled around trading hours.
